You fooled me again, Alan!.... :? ....

...I always think that Colorado is hot and sandy, full of Cacti and Rattlesnakes, like Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico.....

All this nasty cold stuff in Colorado at low level comes as a complete surprise to me!.... ...!

NOT these Colorado Rockies, though...

It always comes as a surprise to me to see snow at low level in South and South-Western States which experience Summertime temperatures of 120+ degrees F!

I always assume that they are warm/hot all year round....

...which would be very nice....for me.... in chilly England!.... ....!

Paul, have you ever heard of "Mile High Stadium"? (Yes, it's for the other Football  ) The field elevation at Denver international Airport is listed as 5434 feet.
I always picture Colorado as nothing but mountains and forests, probably because of the opening sequence on the TV show Mork and Mindy. "Na-Nu Na-Nu" :P

Just for the Record... I was born & raised in Denver, and in my 53 years I've never seen the Temperature get above 105° during the Summer, and even that is a rarity. Of course, living on the Front Range brings at times unpredictable Weather... one just has to be prepared for what the day brings.

Motorcycle trips along Route 66 in New Mexico and Arizona often experience Summer Temperatures of 120 degrees F!

...hot enough to fry an egg on the road!

I see them sweating, and hear them complaining of the heat!... ...!

South-West Utah is another hot place in the Summer!

I like looking at hot places on You-Tube...it warms my Winter bones!... ;) ...!

Don't get me wrong; we see our share of 90° days during the Summer, for sure. It's just not the searing heat the Southwest gets.

The nicest thing is that we definitely see four distinct Seasons, and one can definitely tell when they change!
