Halloween night....

.....tonight, Saturday, is the night when Parents send their annoying off-spring from door-to-door, after spending a fortune on silly make-up, and silly costumes, and annoying their neighbours with requests for various goodies/presents, with the threat of criminal damage upon non-compliance.

...and an excuse for Adults, who should know better, to make asses of themselves dressed up in similar attire!

A pastime mostly enjoyed nowadays (together with Christmas), by our North American Cousins, but has been given up by the English Heathen originators, long, long ago, as a total waste of time and money!

I have already dug the Bear Pit, and set the Bear Trap in my front garden path...just inside my front gate....

....all are welcome.... ;) ...!

The following morning, Sunday, involves clearing out the remaining human waste from the Bear Pit.

Paul....Happy Halloween!.... ....!

..... ... ....!

Phew!.... :o ...!

Today is Sunday, the day after Halloween night.

It sounded as though someone was coming to knock on my door last night, a bit of a commotion, but then it went quiet, and no knock.

This morning I found the remains of one lonely soul at the bottom of the Bear Pit still wearing his/her Halloween costume, and clutching a plastic bag containing one or two collected goodies from nearby neighbours.

I have now cleaned the remains out of the Pit, and put them into the household waste bin ready for collection on Tuesday.

Taken the Bear back to the Circus, and put the lid back on the Bear Pit...until the Christmas Carol time.

Halloween Sorted for another year!.... ...!

Paul.... ;) .... ;) ....!

Totally agree Foz. I'm sick of all this over commercialised B.S. as well!

An why does Christmass have to start in October?

Am I just a grumpy old git or have I finally acquired some common sense in my old age? Everyone else seems completely barking bonkers!

Being a Trumpy old 60 year old now, I guess I have to agree with Fozzer.
Last night some uncaring swine decided that we should all endure just over an hours worth of super loud fireworks in our little village late at night.
My poor little Jack Russell was terrified out of his skin.
I won't repeat what I screamed out of the bedroom window. :D
Halloween is lovely for the little kids ( I have 5 of my own ), but Fireworks on Halloween night is a no no for me.
Next year I'm getting me a machine gun and a Bazooka because screaming out the bedroom window didn't work.

You have to hand it to marketing departments in general. In the UK they have taken an America child's bit of fun and turned it into an unofficial public holiday and convinced adults to spend a lot of money on costumes and make up, go out to parties and splash a lot of money in general at it. Quite brilliant if you as me................

Kids were coming to the Front Door while it was still Daytime!

I explained to them that the Vampires weren't awake yet, and that they should wait until it was REALLY dark.

I guess they were too impatient, because they didn't come back.

Alan :(

Yep, Halloween can do it to ya. It did it to Black Sabbath 45 years ago. October 31st, 1970, University of Miami soccer field concert, on their 1st U.S. tour. I was there.
Many in the crowd were dressed up for both occasions. No opening group, just Sabbath.

The sound stage power totally failed 3x within the 1st ten minutes of the gig. They made it through one tune just before failure 3. Ozzy had enough, he threw the mic down, uttered our most familiar curse word, and the 4 of them walked offstage, not to return.

Pretty spooooky huh? That one tune they finished was 'Paranoid', from their 2nd album.

Well the kids and I had a great party, at home, lots of decorations and sugary things. Nobody dared knock on my door... not sure why. It wasn't like I'd done the garden up in a Vlad the Impaler motif or anything...
