Under the category of General Discussion it says - If it doesn't fit .. It fits here ..

Well, if you say so, because I have no idea where else this post could fit.

I look at this picture, then look at it again, and again....

Image

First I looked at the kids, then at the rats, then at the BIG male rat on the left, then at the kids, then at the rats, then back at the kids.

Always returning to the faces of the kids.

The picture comes from an article - The Mysterious Phenomenon of Bamboo Flowering.

Long story short: bamboo flowers, rats tome to eat the bamboo fruit (who knew that bamboo had fruit :confusion-shrug: ), rats stay and eat village food, rats bad - die rat, die!

Always returning to the faces of the kids.

A few years ago, we had a rat infestation in Gloucester and I shot about a dozen of them in my back yard. One was at least as big as the one on the left. I would never handle them with bare hands though; not even when they're dead!

Here's one stealing food that I left out for the birds.......it was it's last meal!

That rat eating the corn in their article looks more like a field mouse to me. No worries though; shoot the blighter anyway!

I hate rats, when I was a younger a friend of mine and I would go to the dump and hunt rats with our Winchester 3030's. I know it was over kill but it was fun. Like hunting rats with hand grenades. Used to hunt ground hogs with 12 gage and SSG's too. When you hit them they are dead, quick and painless :violin:

Keep smiling

I can cope with most British wild creatures, (apart from Women), but Rodents, rats and mice, give me the screaming heeby-jeebies!

Spreading all sorts of nasty diseases!.... ...!

Tip: Never spread food onto the garden for the Birds, (feathered variety), it encourages Rodents. Place it high up on tables where the Rodents cant reach it!
No food; they go somewhere else!

Paul....I hate Meecies to pieces!... ...!
