One of my best friends joined the R.C. Air Cadets as a kid. He learned to fly there and got his Private Pilot Lic. That led to becoming a Pilot/Policeman in the R.C.M.P and a very rewarding career. After the Police flying he opened a new F.B.O in Washington State in the U.S.A. and became a very successful businessman in his new country.
The Air Cadets have many success stories like this where one of their Cadets learned discipline and the habit of doing a good job at whatever they chose to do. Good luck to your Grandchild and I hope the experience is a memorable and enjoyable one.

Back in the day, I was a member of the ATC. A truly superb organisation, as unlike those wimps in the Scouts we had aircraft and real guns :-D

Hi Mark... <<s

Scouting now has an aviation program and I think it has been in place for quite some time, not sure if the Scouts have a weapons program of some sort or even a Hunters Safety Course.

I know most programs are pushing hard towards the Martial Arts and other Sports but there is only a limited amount of money and like everything else I think Administration gets the largest portion of the pie... :o
