...Chums!... :D ...!

Today is the Summer Solstice; 21st of June.

The longest day!..... ...

(Actually, its still 24 hour long, it just means that we got the most; "daylight").... :D ...!

http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/june-solstice.html

Tomorrow, the days (daylight) gets shorter, and the dreaded Winter is on its way again, for we Northern Hemispherical Folks... ...!

(Southern Folks are looking forward to Summer!)

I'm off on a Motorbike ride now into the land of Own Glendower (Wales) to meet up with fellow Bikers to celebrate the Solstice....

(...any excuse for a rave-up, and a pint!)..... :D ...!

Have fun in the extended daylight!

Paul.... ...!

Enjoy your ride Paul... ;)

Old Girl and I are going to stop at the bugsmasher field on our way to the old homestead for a BBQ.

The Old Girl should be home from church by 10:30 so could easily be in a bugsmasher by 11:30 with one of my Old Retired Rocking Chair Flying Geezers who is looking for someone to take aloft...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Good-on-ya, Doug!

Just arrived back home after a fantastic ride, to meet up with my fellow Biker Chums!

Popped into the local shop on the way back, to treat myself to a Father's Day, Fray Bentos Steak and Kidney Pie for my Dins, and a bottle of Australia's finest Red Vino to wash it all down!

Lots of Father's Day cards from my brood!

So, altogether, a fabulous Father's Day, and Summer Solstice Day, all rolled into one!

What could be nicer!

Paul.... ...!

I sympathise with you, Anthin....

The older I get, the more I am affected by the cold.

I hate the Winters and the cold. It gets into my bones!

Like a Butterfly, I need light and warmth...all the time!

Paul.... :D ...!

Dull and overcast here, at the moment: Mid-Summer, 13*C, rain 40% likely; a day to stop in and play with my toys...and cook a nice dinner!!

Thanks Fozzer.I also have got to the stage where I
feel the cold.I walk around the house in a winter coat
and gloves. It is like living inside a fridge. You think growing
up in Canada I would be used to bitter cold but I was young
and the young can take it.

These days I leave the electric blanket on all night. The only time
I feel warm.

Yes, sir... until the rest of the year is about over, you're getting the daylight knocked out of you...

For me, that is the most depressing part; the 22nd of June, onwards.

Each day(light) getting gradually shorter, up until the 21st of December!

....when it starts all over again!
