Ah yes, summer.

And as you eat, so do the birds outside you windows.

Better be quick! That lil' bird will be done with it's meal before you know it.

How cute. :D

I like my wife's Navajo Taco myself.

Its a funny old do; although I often rustle up a nice spicy Indian curry....Vindaloo!!....

......I've been so indoctrinated in preparing and cooking typical English meals, (Like my dear old Mum used to make), that I've never got around to making (or eating) "Mexican" style meals!

Wouldn't mind giving them a try....
...mind you, I never did fancy Chinese meals. Far too many noodles, funny stuff, and the possibility of the inclusion of various pieces of domestic animals.

I do like to know what I'm eating...beforehand!.... ;) ....!

Paul....Macaroni Cheese for Supper tonight...with added cheese... :D ...!

P.S. I also insist on eating with a Knife and Fork. Knife in the right hand, Fork in the left hand, like proper domesticated people do... ;) ... ...!

Many thanks Anthin!

Its a typical, popular, colourful, English Summer Salad meal, full of good, tasty things, and ideal for anyone on a diet (few calories).
Each day, one pops to the shops to top-up with all sorts of various bits and bobs to keep the overall Salad meal going!

I can have it for Dinner, Tea, and Supper...it will certainly keep your weight down!!

...all; "good-for-you" stuff!... :D ...!

Finally! A real, authentic Navajo Taco!

Had my first back in the 80's, from Basha's Market in Chinle, AZ. Incredible!

ozzy -- the basic Ingredients are:

-- Frybread (regular Corn or Blue Corn flour, Baking Powder, a touch of Salt, and Water)
-- Pinto Beans (NOT Refried Beans)
-- Meat (mutton is the 'traditional' Navajo choice, but Shredded Beef or Ground will work)
-- Grated Cheese
-- Lettuce
-- Tomato

Alan...

..the problem with our British, new-fangled; "Taco" meals is that we seem to have to pick them up and eat them with our fingers.... :? ...!

I always get used to eating a meal with a knife and fork.....like posh folks do.... ;) ... ...!

Poking a meal with my fingers puts me off... ...!

Paul....Just had Spaghetti Bolognaise with Spaghetti, Bolognaise Sauce, virgin Olive oil, chopped Onions, chopped Garlic, Chopped Mushrooms, Basil (NOT Bay-Zill), and grated Cheddar cheese, for my Supper....
...all served on a HOT plate...with a knife and fork... ...!

...note the obligatory knife and fork.... ;) .... ....!

P.S...Too late for a photograph....I've just eaten it...YUMMY!..(Not the Photograph)... ;) ...!

Paul,

The nice thing about Navajo Tacos... they can only be eaten with utensils! If they're made the right way, they are very wet from the sauce
and do not lend themselves well to hand eating.

You remind me of a day long ago when my mom told me, "Don't eat with your fingers... use your fork!"
"If I don't use my fingers," said I, "how do I use the fork?"

When I eat Spaghetti I do it the Italian way.A fork in the
right hand and a dessert spoon in the left.Pick up the Spag with the fork
and roll it with the spoon.Otherwise I use a Knife and Fork.Except of course
with soup.Picking up soup with a fork is a real drag.

What about Fish & Chips? I was in Portsmouth, England many years ago and one of my favorite experiences was eating Fish & Chips out of a paper cone with my fingers.
