Flippin' Norah!.....

Postby Fozzer » Fri Apr 10, 2015 3:50 am

Fired up a couple of my favourite Flight Sim Site Forums first thing this morning only to be bombarded with all sorts of full-page advertisements for all sorts of annoying things, often including speech and music!
Closing each one just generated more!

Sod this for a game of soldiers I thought.... ....., so I ran my trusty "Malwarebytes", which found 8 incursions in various locations in my hard drive!
Quarantined them all...re-booted...sorted... ....!
It always makes me curious as to where I could have caught this stuff from, during a day of exploring "normal", "trusted" sites, (like this one).... :o ....!
It just goes to show how important it is to regularly run our Anti-Malware and Anti-Virus programs to get rid of this stuff!
(I never "open" dodgy stuff in my e-mail...just delete it).

All quiet on the Western Front...so far!

Paul.... :D ...!

It never ceases to amaze me how this happens to me too. I am not one for viewing dodgy websites at all. Malwarebytes often finds odd things on my computer. Another good way to clean Firefox is to use the reset function. Go to troubleshooting in the Tools drop down menu and then select Refresh Firefox. If you have a stubborn advert "virus", it will remove it. You lose all your cookies, but it is a small price to pay.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
