Interesting stuff.

The one-armed bandit moves into the 21st century. Next up: Eye contact slots. No physical excertion necessary, you can now lose in the blink of an eye.

I have played slots before, rarely, and only at the insistence of an ex girlfriend. I would limit myself to $10 per visit. I did once win $65 tho. Slots are programmed in such a way as to win sometimes, but not such that they could break the house.

Fascinating read!

I must say that I have never been involved in "gambling" for the whole of my life...

I wont even try School Draws; and Lottery tickets, Horse racing, etc, are a definite no-no!

I only bet on certainties...... and as there are no such things as certainties.....I don't bet!... ;) ...!

Paul.... :D ...!

...I'm NEVER going to win the Lottery!... ...!

If you get to Vegas, go in with a daily limit. Mine was 100$ a day which I saved for before going. Can't afford Blackjack because you can win, but you can also lose too fast, minimum bets at 5$ each. So I play the slots. I allocated 30 for the dollar machines, 30 for the quarter slots and 40 for the nickel slots. If a machine didn't pay something within two minutes I would get up and find another. Last trip after 7 days I walked away 690 out of 700$. But I had dozens of free drinks and 3 free meals. (Comps.) ^-^

Many moons ago when I wore a blue suit for the Queen, I was fortunate enough to go to Las Vegas a couple of times. We got given a ridiculous amount of money for food per day (in a lump sum once a week). I would generally eat in a casino. For entertainment, I would change $20 into Dimes and Quarters and play the slots. I was told to move to another machine if it did not drop a few coins with the first few tries. Some evenings I was back in my room after an hour, some evenings I would be back after three or four hours. I got to drink for free and occasionally came home with a plastic pot full of silver coins. One evening I won $80. However, I kept to my $20 and made sure by only having that in my wallet.
Many years later when my wife an I toured the U/S for six weeks, I took her back to Vegas and we did the same thing again, it still worked and my wife was the one to have to pot of silver at the end of the evening. One last thing about Vegas, three days with my wife, sights and lights was far better than three weeks a shot for the Queen even if she was paying. You can get tired of the place quite quickly I find.

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
