If anyone can get the opportunity, visit Arlington, Vermont, where Norman Rockwell lived early in his career, and Stockbridge, Mass., where he lived and painded during the last part of his life. There is a wonderful museum devoted to Norman there and for those of us old enough to remember, Stockbridge is also the home of another famous person/incident. The "Alices Resturant Thanksgiving Day Masacree". Yeah, Alices restaurant did exist at one point in the early sixties and Trinity Church still stands. I'll have to dig up the pictures and post them.

Thank you very much for the heads up, I really enjoyed these paintings, especially The Homecoming (1945) & The Gossips (1948) to name but a few. His art really gives the viewer an insight into the emotions & topics of the time.

Regards,

Keith.

I finally got around to checking this out. Wow, just amazing. Some of these have incredible detail, and the compositional aspect of all of them is just great. Rockwell was very unique in his artistry. Thanks for the post.
