Flight Simulation

Postby Flying Trucker » Thu Jan 08, 2015 9:00 am

Goodly morning all... ;)

The Old Girl is not feeling well so I made her breakfast... :D

I can't remember when the last time she was ill...she is usually as healthy as a horse... :o :shifty:

Instead of milk on her porridge (Soft food made by boiling oatmeal or other meal or legumes in water or milk until thick) I covered it in Laphroaig Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, she is sleeping real well so I get to annoy this electronic gizmo... :o

Having a hard time doing simulated flights on this electronic gizmo.

Suppose I am used to motion simulators and the real thing.
Rocking back and forth in this computer chair and making weird engine sounds just does not cut it...

Winter and minus twenty six (-26) Celsius temperatures keeps me inside more now than ever before. One would think the Microsoft Table Top Game "FSX" would keep me occupied but I just can't seem to get involved with it much.

Perhaps a homebuilt motion simulator would do the trick :?: Hello kids...where are you :?:
Holding off from purchasing Flight Simulator add-ons and upgrading this electronic gizmo might not have been a great idea, however the kids and grandchildren kept telling me not to spend any money as they are building me a new motion simulator...that was over a year ago...still waiting... :violin:

Viewing the Forums here at Simviation...now that takes the chill off me...

The Screenshots...wow...the first thing I check when logging in...you folks have some talent... ;)

Cockpit shots are always a pleasure to look at, I spend a lot of my viewing time examining the details of the cockpit, especially on the pictures of aircraft we seldom see here on the forums.

Don't forget the cockpit shots folks when you are doing your flight, you would be surprised how interesting they are to us Old Retired Rocking Chair Flying Geezers like myself...

The Weather Folks say traces of snow will be here today...hope so...a nice white covering just might be what I need to cheer me up...come on now it is Winter...
Oh and folks who are on wells do need snow, especially farmers who milk cows twice a day...water is a necessity...
Wonder if the Weather Folks are going to lie to me again :?:

With the Old Girl being Unserviceable... , not going outside today I should start showing signs of Cabin Fever (A condition that produces restlessness and irritability caused from being in a confined space) by about 14:00Hrs...

Keep up the great work you all do with your commentaries and screenshots folks here at Simviation, means a lot to us Old Retired Rocking Chair Flying Geezers
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Sad news that; "She who cooks all your lovely meals, does all your washing and ironing, and pats you comfortingly on your head when you are not feeling very well", is also feeling a bit poorly herself, Doug!

When the good Lady of the house is incapacitated, the good Gentleman of the house is at a total loss!

Me?...I've learnt to cope extremely well, over many years... ;) ...!

Flight Simulation?..... ....

...I regularly take a break, and play some of my many other various computer games dotted around my house!.... ...!

I've been blasting the Aliens, etc, etc, in my various space ships, etc, with my Atari 2600, Megadrive, Apple 2E, Sinclair Spectrum 48k, Commodore C64, Amstrad CPC 464, Atari 800, Amiga 500/1200, and uncle Bill's various DOS/Windows computers, ever since the 1970's.
....and I'm still doing it...every day!... :D ...!

Computer hardware and software?...you name it, and I've probably got it stored in one of my spare rooms.

Thanks Paul...guess I am an outside type of guy, always have been.

Just can't see sitting around and watching the boob tube (television). I do a lot of reading and gather information from the Internet which fills in some time.

Not much into games on the computer, Microsoft Flight Simulator Game "FSX" is the only game on my electronic gizmo. Have deleted all previous flight simulator games including FS2004.

Now a good game of Chess or Bridge with three other friends fills in some evenings....

Again thanks for your reply... ;)

fox2...wonderful shot...much appreciated... ;)

Have you found a program that makes snow more realistic when in a simulated flight or the aircraft is on the ground :?:
