Steak Pie.
Boiled potatoes.
Carrots.
Parsnip.
Leek.
Brussels's Sprouts.
Mixed Peppers. (Red green and yellow)
Chopped Spinach, with Butter and Garlic Pepper.

...and Fozzer's Amazing Onion Gravy with Herbs and Spices.... ...!

All served on a hot plate, with much love and affection!.... ...!

Enjoy....(I did!).... ...!

Talking of parsnips Paul. I had a wonderful crop of them this year. Just dug one up must have been 2ft long. Mind you, the smaller ones taste sweeter. A home grown parsnip is 10 times as good as a store bought one. Try them roasted even. I like em boiled and mashed like potatoes, yummy.

That's just about true with anything 'homegrown'. Had some good Cherry and Roma tomatoes this season, along with a good haul of Jalapeño, Habañero and Anaheim peppers.

Totally awesome in Pork Green Chile, and other Mexican food.

I do enjoy my shopping, preparation, and cooking all my various meals throughout each day!

Regarding the vegetables, I do shop for fresh vegetables every day of the week, that way I know that they are really fresh, and each day I serve between five and eight different vegetables every day...
The problem is, my local supermarket mostly display carrots, parsnips, leeks, etc, the size of Elephants legs! and it is difficult to find smaller, tastier ones!
I used to grow various tasty vegetables in my garden many years ago, but since the instant availability of vegetables from all over the World, often out of season, I reverted my garden back to lawns, shrubs, trees, and flowers again....and all my veg now comes from the markets!
...'trubble is....they never taste as good as my garden veg used to be!... ....!

Lots of different vegetables every day are very good for me...and keep me and my tummy happy and contented!... ...!

Tip....
When it comes to peeling vegetables with hardly any waste, this little Peeler shown here, my pride and joy, fitted with a special swivel blade, is highly recommended...>>>

Paul, that carrot looks really sad, all washed out and no sweetness by the looks of it. Try growing a few carrots in a flower pot, you can have carrots and parsnips grow all year round. Another tip, don't peel the veggies, just use a nail brush on them. Even the potatoes taste better unpeeled (unless they're really old). Morning breakfast taters with parsnips country fried: Par boil for 10 mins and cut up into small fork size chunks, fry with butter or bacon fat. I usually fry an egg with a 1/2 tsp butter under a saucepan lid, I like my eggs soft. One thing I miss here is a good rasher of Yorkshire bacon though.

I well remember a photo of particular arrangement of vegetables involving a large carrot and a pair of small potatoes, which I posted on the Forum a few years ago....

While we're on the subject of home grown stuff. I had a glut of Tomatoes this year due to the unusual length of the season. Not to say I was sick of eating them raw, it's just I was looking for more ways to preserve them besides canning and freezing. I found an unusual recipe for Tomato marmalade, made with ripe tomatoes and candied ginger, using lemon rind too. I made a couple of jars to try. Needless to say they're gone now and I've lost my chance to make more as we had the 1st killing frost last night and I only have green tomatoes on the vine. If anyone's interested, I'll publish the recipe. Believe me it's gooooood.

Wantonly posting scenes depicting the exploitation of veg is quite the disturber methinks. ESPECIALLY when they're posed naked with the instuments of their demise in the frame. Sooooo offensive I don't know how to adequately respond.....

One thing I can't grow here is oranges.
