I used to have a fairly large collection of "oldies" on cassette.

It was a great way to drive long distances.


Even the old commercials were relaxing.

The radio i do know is the wireless we used when sailing in the navy! I hated that one. It always started up at night when i were having my beauty sleep
Thats the reason why i'm looking the way i do today

Hawkeye, most of the Links I post are sent to me from family and friends.

The Old Girl and I like most of our family watch little television, odd the Old Girl and I both watch Ice Pilots however I spend very little time on the computer.

We spend most of our time out doors and when the weather in not so good we both do a lot of cooking or pound out a few ditties on the piano or organ...

I use FSX when the weather is usually poor to not go real flying or I get bored...

Old fart test: What was the shadow's name in the general public? As in his alias when he wasn't lurking in the shadows?

My maternal grandparents probably purchased their first B&W TV in the late 60's. Before that they always listened to the radio.

My mom bought her first B&W TV approx. 1962 and her first color 13" TV approx. 1969. My youngest brother and I watched our first color TV show; "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" (the animated puppet version). It was our first Christmas with in Technicolor......lol

It's odd, even today I spend 80% of my days listening to the radio; classical soft music or oldies of the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's. I still like big band music!

I bet 90% of todays programing bores the hell out of me.

Lamont Cranston! Excessively wealthy, multimillionaire playboy. As totally and completely unlike The Shadow as one can get.
Shadow network all over town, and the world, all of whom owe The Shadow a fovor in return, and are more than happy to do anything asked of them, notified by their Shadow-ring flashing. Stylized Shadow for an emblem on them.

Well done phantom tweaker! I saw a blues band with the name Lamont Cranston one summer in the great white north known as somewhere nw of Duluth and they explained the nom de plume in detail.

I used to be an avid radio listener but being from t'other side of t'Pond most of those shows are unfamiliar to me. A few British shows are listed but not my favourites "Dick Barton - Special Agent" & "Journey into Space"* & I can't think why "The Goon Show", my all-time favourite comedy show, is listed under Drama.

*Correction: A few episodes of "Journey into Space"are listed as Operation Luna 1, 2, 3 etc. from the British Shows 1 link.
