I don't know about where you guys come from, but over here we're doing GREAT!

Just last month (or was it the other month  ) we in the USA created 300,000 more jobs.

Well..... That's what the news papers & prime time news says.

Actually, about 300 companies like McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, etcetera created 1,000 part time jobs.

And I guess that I shouldn't forget the fulltime jobs that were cut to make room for the part time guys.

After Stanley Security wasted the division that I worked for, I was very lucky to have found a full time job.

OOOPPPS! I just re-read that link -

The layoffs are part of Microsoft’s plan to eliminate a total of 18,000 jobs ...

Would you like a Computer Science degree with fries sir?

Why? Aren't the investors making enough money? MS is and has been making money hand over fist but they have to lay-off all these folks for what?
So MS can keep more of the profits? Let's see, Hmm,
fewer employees= fewer paychecks, fewer benefits expenditures, reduced office space requirements, reduced office support items (ie. desks, chairs, office supplies),
less congestion in the employee parking lots, fewer Christmas bonuses or profit sharing.

Fewer employees = increased control through intimidation (ie. "So you don't like working overtime and on weekends? No problem, we can find plenty of folks needing a job who will.")

Yep! It's a win-win situation for MS.
