That's very much like what I had for breakfast this morning - only there was a lot more of it. :P

The good, old-fashioned, Full English Breakfast!

One of the tastiest meals you can possibly imagine!

..mine was a tea-time snack version to keep me going until Supper-time at 10PM, just before bed... :D ...!

.... ....!

The "Tea" in Tea-time is just the liquid contained in the "Tea-cup", supplied from the "Tea-pot", Chris.... :D ..!

The "edible stuff" can be just what you/I happen to fancy for Tea-time!

...this time, mine was egg-and-bacon, instead of ham sandwiches and fairy cakes or fruit trifle... :) ...!

So many choices!.... ...!

Paul....Breakfast, Dinner, Tea, and Supper.... ...!

The working version of the link above.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_%28meal%29

Explains it all!... :D ...!

Paul....(Lower middle-class).... ;) ....>>>
"Lower-middle and working-class people, especially from the North of England, traditionally call their midday meal dinner and their evening meal (served around 6 pm) tea, whereas the upper social classes would call the midday meal lunch (or luncheon), and the evening meal (served after 7 pm) dinner (if formal) or supper (often eaten later in the evening)."

I swear Paul every time you post a picture of your meal it makes my mouth water. BTW, My tea cup always accompanies me into the computer/hobby room.

I believe my tea habit I inherited from my Canadian Grandmother.

Ta Hawk!..... :D ...!

My cooking escapades are almost a hobby with me...just like my Motorcycling!... :D ...!

I spend a lot of time in my kitchen every day, thinking up really tasty meals to tickle my taste buds!

I get a lot of satisfaction with preparing and cooking nice meals...just for myself!

Its coming up to Supper Time now...so another nice meal will soon be on the go, after a close exploration of my larder for some goodies!

Egg Tagliatelle and a Ham Carbonara Sauce, and fresh crusty bread and butter.

Paul, your running commentary of provincial UK culinary delights is always looked forward to, as are your explanations about the daily ritual of 'tea'.

Having incorporated the afternoon custom into my daily routine (16:00 MST), it's one I heartily enjoy.

In the U.S., those who dine shortly after rising in the early daylight (or pre-dawn) all seem to agree that meal is breakfast; a snacktime betwixt breakfast and noon is sometimes called brunch. However, the noon meal is more often dubbed lunch, a term that was once applied mostly to a meal eaten away from home, usually at a workplace out of a (lunch)box. Quite often I hear the evening meal called dinner; in our home, when I was young, we had breakfast in the early morning, dinner at noon and supper in the evening. Nevertheless, since I work three or so days a week at night (until 2009, it was six nights per week), my eating times are rather scattered, sometimes skipped; usually, my first eating time is late evening or, on a night off work, closer to midnight and my last (usually the 2nd, if not the only) is in the latter part of the morning; thus, they are my night and morning meals.

Not good news;@H!

Interfering with your Body Clock!

My dear old Dad spent most of his life working Shift-work, with irregular hours, and having meals at the "wrong times".
This resulted in him having various problems with his Tummy, finally resulting in Stomach Ulcers caused through his system flooding his stomach with highly acidic Bile, when his clock stomach was expecting a meal to be eaten and digested!
The Stomach Ulcers finally resulted in his death at the age of 89 with Cancer of the Stomach.

A warning to always consume meals at the "correct time" of the Body-Clock day....if at all possible!

Shift-work is very, very bad for you!.... :naughty: ....!

Paul....8-10 AM....Shifting a hearty Breakfast down my throat at the moment!.... :D ...!

Breakfast, Dinner, Tea, and Supper.

I still don't know how you manage to eat a big cooked meal just before going to bed. If I did that I would be awake with indigestion all night.

From my knowledge of nursing homes for the elderly the last meal of the day is called Supper & served at about 4:30 pm in the afternoon. That is what I would call tea time. If you're lucky you might get a couple of biscuits before going to bed. I'm not sure you would survive.

I love my Suppers, Doug.... ...!

Something nice and warm and tasty before retiring to bed....
..it settles my stomach, and makes it feel all warm and cosy and satisfied!

I hate having to stay overnight at some of my children's houses, because they never feed me with a Supper with the words....
"We are off to bed now...see you in the morning"
...leaving me hungry, and my stomach rumbling, waiting to be fed.... :( ...!

Nursing Home?...I would not survive with just a bed-time biscuit... ....!

Paul....Getting prepared for Din-dins now... :D ...!
