..and you thought the Titanic was having problems?...

Waiting for Global Warming to melt the Iceberg in my Refrigerator!... ....>>>

Image

When/if this lot melts, it will flood my Kitchen, 'co there is nowhere for the water to go, and the big, heavy Fridge+Freezer is too close to the floor, (one Inch), to fit a container under it to collect the water!
Its a nightmare, every time!
Half of my Freezer compartment is lost to ice and snow!

Apparently, modern Fridges automatically self-defrost themselves?, but I am still curious as to where all the melted water goes to!

The only good thing, in this hot present weather, I crawl inside it to cool down....(probably).... ;) ...!

Installing a depth gauge to indicate the height of the water on the Kitchen floor... :( ...!

Paul....Hair drier, on full heat, aimed at the open Fridge.

Blimey Paul!
And they says the ice is melting up north

I always use this at the bottom of the freezer

but i can see you got a problem with the 1 inch

When you're done and the kitchen floor is clean as a new one, check the rubber seal on the door. Seems to me its not closing tight ;)

Note. My wife told me she could come to help, but i said no. Paul is old enough to learn about life!!

I've been there, know all about it, done it, and I don't want to do it again....
...so she is perfectly safe.... Trust me... ;) ... ;) ...!

Ah ha! The truth is revealed! Paul is not in fact an innocent biker, he is an evil genius hell bent on world domination! Global warming is a lie, he's hidden the Arctic in his secret lair and this photo proves it :-D :-D :-D

But what will he do next? That's an easy one. He's waiting for global warming to really kick in and melt the rest of the ice on the planet. Then he's going to start selling his ice collection at premium price and become a multimillionaire. Very clever Mr. Paul! Diabolical even!

Finally the Titanic managed to negotiate its way around the Iceberg!...>>>

Stage II...>>>

Image

It took a whole day chipping at the ice with a garden spade, hammer and chisel, and wading in water on kitchen the floor, whilst a Fan Heater very slowly melted the ice.

One of those days best forgotten!... :( ...!

Paul...with a leaky Fridge Door seal?.... ....!

Just so's you know, I've found a good hair dryer on a lower heat setting, or a good heatshrink type heatgun work incredibly well for melting out a freezer.
Also, a door seal that doesn't seal will cause freezers to ice up real good and real fast every time...

As though defrosting the ice with various mechanical implements and Fan Heaters wasn't bad enough, it was mopping up the enormous amount of water flooding the kitchen floor that was the worst part!

Where all the water goes in the case of "automatic, self-defrosting" Refrigerators and Freezers still eludes me!... :o ...!

Paul.... ....!
