Two Bulls fire kicked up yesterday and very rapidly grew.

2 Erikson Aero Tanker MD-87s are on scene (Tanker 101 and her sister ship 105)

Below image is from last year when 101 was undergoing tests.

Wife and I hiked up the Pilot Butte yesterday to get a good look when it was still ~300acres yesterday afternoon...this morning it passed 6,200acres burned.

Sorry for the bad quality...this camera is old!

Still not contained.

Smokey sky today! Yesterday the sun was blocked occasionally peeking out in blood-red colors.

Its now becoming Summer Wild Fire season in Southern California, and I read the local news; Kron4 and the LA Times, fire up my Cessna 150/152 and track the scenes of the fires, something I have done for many years during the Wild Fire season.
It also enables me to visit various parts of California that I may have not seen before.

We've got one down in the Everglades too.

It doesn't look like there is much property damage but they had to close some roads.

I was wondering where all this bloody smoke was coming from!

Nice to see they rolled out the red (faded to orange?) Carpet for these birds :)
