<<v Hi to everyone, have finally bitten the bullet joined the forum and am making my first post !
Don't know why i haven't joined long before now as i have been visiting the site for a long time now and enjoy reading the informative and entertaining posts therein.
Have not been involved in MS Flight Simming for as long as some of my esteemed colleagues on this site , but have been flying for quite a while.
Started out back in the 70's with Janes FA/18. My how things have progressed since those days !

Gary

Welcome, and happy flying.

What areas of flight simming are you interested in?

Whatever it may be, you should have plenty of company.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I am interested in all types of flying but do like the older piston types, the sounds get me !
I like flying in out of the way places , the Navigation challenges and in nasty weather !
I spent quite some time in Papua New Guinea when i was a young chap and a Bank Officer in those days, and volunteered to do the weekly fly in , fly out bank agency at a place called Finchhafen. We flew in either a Britten Norman Islander, Cessna 402 or 206 in sometimes marginal weather.
This is where i got my interest in flying i think. I was always in the co-pilot seat for these flights so i got the bug !
Interestingly, the airport of departure Lae is not represented in FSX but i just recently downloaded some FS 2004 Scenery which depicts Lae when it was still open and it works perfectly so i can now recreate some of those flights with me in the pilots seat. Cool !

Aside from being better looking than I am, and having liven in more interesting places than me, you sound like me!

The flight sim world is SO MUCH BETTER than it was in the 70's & 80's!

A double welcome. :D

ROWRRRRR!
The sound of a great big pair of Pratt-and-Whitneys roaring up to takeoff speed. :D
Welcome to Simviation! I agree with you; nothing beats the sound of big radials beating the air into submission. :)
You will have fun here, friend! :)

Thank you "Fozzer" and "Staiduk"
Yes Paul you will be pleased to know that i visit the butcher now for my sheep requirements.
The "woolly jumpers " run far to fast for me now , and scaling barb wire fences to access their domain plays absolute havoc with my "undercarriage" !
