I think that I'll put the "whale" plane in the same category as the Jetsons family car and the Henry Dreyfuss Convaircar.

And the Henry Dreyfuss Convaircar did actually fly.


As to the Airbus Beluga, big as it may be, it would hardly be in the same category (except the "big" category).

This design has made me remember Vincent Burnelli planes. For those curious I suggest google "Vincent Burnelli", the official Burnelli web has unfortunately disappeared.
