HMMM...

Goodly morning all... <<q

Minus 21C without wind-chill here this morning with a nice moderate snow fall in progress. Starting to look like Winter finally... :D

I have or rather our son has two of these engines in the hangar. I never got around to doing anything with them.

Here is an interesting Link.

You will notice two aircraft not present with the VW air cooled engine.

The "Breezy" and the "Volmar Amphibian". Both of which I planned to build at one time or another.

VW Air Cooled Engine:

The Breezy:

The Volmar:

If I had got around to building these or at least one of them I would have made them with the VW Pusher Installed Air Cooled Engine.

Oh well...time waits for no one. Working on a grandson to build one of these types and I believe he is convinced and willing to do it. Time will tell... ;)
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Bully for you, Doug!

I never have any luck in getting my big, burly, grown-up Sons and Grandsons to do any thing for me; like cutting my grass, trimming my trees, hedges and bushes, etc, in my garden...
Lifting/moving heavy things...
..or any thing else that I am struggling with... :( ...!

...just when you thought that having "Sons" may come in useful?.... :naughty: ...!

Hi folks... <<q

The Old Girl and I have been blessed with both our entire families.

We both come from large families who like us have a large family.

It is often hard and expensive when family members live on opposite sides of the country or even on the opposite side of the earth.

Many of us try to meet at least once a year and we have a family reunion every second year. The ladies put out a Cook Book with a recipe from each family.

Aviation has played a major role, both military and civilian so it is not surprising this grandson wants to build an aeroplane. The engines are there so why not?

The lad goes for his Gliders Permit next summer and in a couple of years he will have his Drivers License.

He is close with his older brother who just got his Private Pilots License through Cadets this year and his two older sisters are very supportive.

Our son, his dad is home several days a week now from flying his four engine Boeing Spam can so there will be lots of help.

His older brother told me he likes the sound of the VW air cooled engine...it reminds him of several Honda 50cc motorcycles on steroids...

Yup, grandpa may see a homebuilt in that hanger yet....
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
