Great. Now they're going to outlaw RC hobby stuff. Somebody will sue, the FDA, ACLU, and all the other ridiculous clown suit wearing lawyers will chew away at this hobby till its gone.

Although tragic, I hope that not everyone has to lose because one person did.
Hopefully, the ranking on the list of how often people get killed in this fashion becomes relevant in the courtroom over the wrongful death lawsuit that will surely ensue.

And this is why I will not let my boys stand near me when I am flying mine. The speed of the average RC heli rotor is around then 2000 rpm mark. The average speed of a real helicopter blade is around 500 rpm. Model helicopters only scale down in size, but scale up in other areas........................And are as unforgiving as the real thing too...

I must admit, as an onlooker, I would be very cautious about being in close proximity to model aircraft and their whirling propellers and rotors....

...that same as the real things...scary!

Paul... ;) ...!

Wow! That's screwed up. I thought for sure that you could get pretty messed up if you got hit by one of those props and/or rotors,
but I didn't think they had the strength in them to be able to chop you to death. boy what a lousy day that turned out to be huh?

I would have thought the plastic would have broke first before it became fatal. Or are these things made out of metal now? The scary
thing is, they will sell these things to little kids if they have the money.

Leaves me with one question:
Cut the top of his head off-was it an Apache helicopter?

Just curious...

Here's another story from this week; similar sort of implement, but unfortunately with the same outcome...

Most full size RC heli's, (not the sort of thing you buy in a toy shop) whether powered by an internal combustion engine or electric motor are using either wooden blades, but more often these are being upgraded to carbon fibre. However, bearing in mind that if a paper disk is turning fast enough it can cut metal, it is the speed and not the material that matters.......
