One of my lovely Lads brought me two large, fresh, Beef Steaks yesterday as a belated Birthday present...

A real, expensive luxury for me!...(something I never buy!)

So I included one of them in a proper Sunday dinner with all the trimmings...>>>



Steak with herbs and English Mustard....(cooked properly in the Gas oven).
Onions.
Mashed Potato.
Roast Potato.
Assorted vegetables.
My special Gravy.

A glass (or two) on Blossom Hill Red Vino..

A small piece of the cooked Steak left over for a Beef Curry for Supper tonight!

The other Steak for later-on in the week!

Fozz..You're a legend, although I have to say that steak looks a bit over done for my taste. 4 mins on each side in a frying pan is all I'm looking for in a steak.
I cooked a Gammon joint in Coca Cola (yes Coca Cola) and the family and I had it with roasted King Edward potatoes and all the trimmings.
No picies but it went down very well and some left over for sarnys tomorrow.

You will notice that with all the meats that I cook are; "very well done", and cooked slowly for the required time in my trusty gas oven...

One thing I never suffer from is the dreaded; "Delhi Belly", due to eating under-cooked meat!*
If there's blood in it, it is under-cooked...and you will die...trust me!... ...!

I am famous for; "Cremated Sausages"!.... ...!

Supper coming up now, for my Beef Curry... ...!

* I make a point of avoiding other folks garden Barbecue's... ...!
(That's the place to die of food poisoning!).... ...!

...I changed my mind on the Beef Curry Supper..... ....

As I had some of my stupendously, wonderful Gravy, left over from Dins...

I popped some Chips into the gas oven, some sliced Onions and Mushrooms into the frying pan..

..and served it all up, with the Steak and the gravy, onto a pre-warmed plate...

.....and included, yet again, another glass (or two/three) of Blossom Hill Red Vino!.... ....!

Looks awesome as usual. I was quite busy this past Saturday with one of my "garden barbecue's" . I first boiled for racks of St louis style spare ribs in beef broth 2 bones at a time. While doing that I was smoking to beef briskkets in one of my world famous marinades. Once the ribs were ready, on the charcoal grille they went for a nice warm up and sauce mopp. I wish i would of taken pics. I believe you would of eaten well at my house Fozz

I must admit, Mike... ...

..I find folks outside Barbecues to be very scary places!

I tend to refuse eating any meat offered, suspecting that it may not be properly cooked all the way through and piping hot!

I would much prefer to cook meats correctly in my kitchen gas over, and offer them to the visitors on a hot plate, with a civilised knife and fork!*... ...!

Under-cooked Chicken, Chops, Sausages, etc, are a recipe for food poisoning, or an upset tummy at the very least!

I never did fancy outside Stone Age Cooking over a bonfire!... ... ...!

For many years I resisted the temptation to buy a barbecue as I always felt that nothing could be cooked outside that I couldn't cook better indoors. However I finally gave in and bought my first Barbie.
Took myself down to local supermarket and armed myself with lots of packs of stuff meant specifically for the barbecue. Imagine my surprise when I got home and read on the packets "this product should be cooked in the oven and then quickly browned on the barbecue for a few minutes".
What a con.
Barbecue enjoying retirement in the garage. Perhaps in California or Bondi beach, but not in sunny Kent UK.

Some of my wise and knowledgeable friends always pre-cook their "Barbecue stuff" in the oven in the kitchen beforehand, to make sure its properly cooked all the way through before trusting it to the cremating device outside, in the wind, and the rain, and the bitter cold!

..and I'm thinking, (as I do), if they really are that wise and knowledgeable, they wouldn't have purchased the dastardly cremating device, in the first place... ...!

...its always warm and dry in the kitchen, sat at the table with chairs...with a knife and fork..eating a meal like a Christian.. ...!

I could never see the point of setting my dinner on fire, outside in the garden!... ...!

...(Zaph...you got it wrong..trust me!.. ...).

Fozzer, are you available to come to Georgia and cook as my personal chef? The cold season is only 4 months or so long and it rarely snows. Or perhaps I might set up a net-cam in the kitchen that you might instruct me on the finer points of cooking some of your scrumptious looking meals. I have taken note of your primary rule of cooking...begin (and end) with a glass (or 2 or 3) of wine!

The trouble is Bud, Fozz would never part with his famous gravy recipe!
Many people have tried. None have succeeded.

...and don't forget the primary rule of "serving", Bud...

....ALWAYS serve hot meals on a pre-heated plate, preferably HOT!

Georgia is getting a bit; "South" for me , Bud... .... .....!

To each his own I suppose. But in my defense, I have turned a many a non believer in my back yard. Dare I say, if it were in building code in my little neighborhood I would remove move stove and put my grille(s) and smoker in its place. At the point dear friends the skies the limit what I could do any animal worth eating with my trusty herbs and sauces (i make from scratch) at my side . And of coarse a good brew or 2 or 12 helps in the happiness of others . Grille It and they will come is my motto lol!
