I been using this freeware software name stellarium ,I think for those who likes astronomy this is very accurate (Position declination and right asention of the space objects includuding the main 4 jupiter satelite real time position)It stop to impress me ,it has so many tools , Its like having a powerful telescope because it also has impresive 3d animation (I still find strange that this software its free)

http://www.stellarium.org/

Let me know those who download it and install it what you think

I don't know if this is the wrong place for this topic ,please move it if you mod think this is not the right place, this is and educational program

It fits here, I guess.

That does indeed look good. But if I were to get it it would be a real pain in the @$$. I'd just want to haul my desktop outside. That wouldn't be much fun.

Do you have a tablet? I use Sky Map from Google. It's free, and although no where near as complete as Stellarium, it's still fun to use on my 7 inch tablet.

NO I don't have a tablet ,I bearly have a PC

I use that too ,I think is in the same Google earth ,but I think is not acurate as Stelarium , Some atronomers use this as a tool I heard ,it simulates the real sky animation this means if you are watching in Stelarium for example Saturn or mars it will move just exacly how you watch this when you are using a telescope without the right acention motor drive , in a few words ,its like if you were watching the sky with a telescope

this also has and enormus data base of photos and photo planet rotation animation

these images I took doesn't show the euatorial lines ,azimut lines ,constelation lines ETC (I reduce them too much )

EDITED: I found a way to make the lines visible a little bit more visible in these pics

"...is not acurate as..."

It not as accurate as all heck! But it is VERY portable and entertaining.

I do have an old laptop but it doesn't charge the battery anymore ( I tried a replacement battery, so I know that its the built in charger). If I didn’t need a real long extension cord to go outside…

Every now and again I wish that I had a small telescope. My last one was in the mid '60s, a 4 inch refractor. Oh, well. Time goes by.

Well, some of these locations look rather pretty in your maps but they're not doing well for me when I enter the destination; I still breathe OK and recover before crashing but the aircraft keeps stalling...
 ;)
