FWIW, just remember that whatever branch you join, you eat what they give you, work when they tell you, fight when they tell you, sleep when they tell you, poop when they tell you, etc... don't take the oath unless you're prepared to accept that.  ;)

The Air Force sounds pretty good if you like flying, but if I were of the age to make the decision again (never did serve, actually), I'd probably want to fly for the Marine Corps. Not really sure why... I just would. ;D

I had my heart set on joined the military to fly, but the one thing that I can't do anything about stopped me, they have a max height limit of 6'2 and I'm 6'3 so that ideas out, plus going into my 3 year of Army JROTC I've had enough of drill sergeants. ;D

Hey, I'm 6'5" and I'm an inch below the limit, so there's no problem with the Air Force (if I'm not careful, they might switch me over to recruiting ;D).  The officer I interview with said they stuffed a friend of his who was a linebacker in college into the A-10. :D

Well I want to get into the Air Force and get pilot lessons. Then after that if I like the Air Force I'll stay if Id rather go commercial I'll go commercial. I'll have at least 10 years* to think because I read if you get pilot lessons from the Air Force then you have to serve 10 years back. I knew pilots could have any degree as long as they had it but I would have thought that an aerospace would be better but maybe I'll just think about mechanical engineering instead like you did.

tcco....;)...

In 10 years time you will be married to some God-awful, ugly woman, and trying to control a crowd of screaming Kids running around the local Supermarket, while she sucks all your remaining money out of your Wallet, whilst

Really :o, the recruiter that visited our school said it was 6'2" for flight crews.

I think it's impossible to give a difinitive answer. Often height is taken in parts, not just overall - for example an RAF pilot's knee to buttock length or his "sitting" height is far more limiting than his overall height - it's all about proportions. The only way to actually find out is when you have your selection medical and they say yes or no.

For the Air Force, you must be under 77 inches standing and 40 inches from the chair to the top of your head while seated.

As far as fitting into a 150, I fit into a 152 somewhat, and I don't think a 150 would be much different.
