Do you get the feeling the diving pair of 14 year old Tom Daley and "the other bloke" won't be together for 2012...

...talk about sticking the knife in, particularly against someone so young!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/diving/7552526.stm

From the above article:

"He had a pop at me before the last dive. I saw my mum in the audience and I asked her to give me a call and Tom went to me 'Why are you on the phone? We're still in the competition and we've got another dive to do.'

Well said Tom, at least you were focused on the competition...

Well Phelps just won his 11th Gold Medal making him the best Olympic athlete of all time. ;D USA took home the Silver in Women's gymnastics against China.

The way Phelps took the lead in his swim was just unbelievable.

I think in the quatitative terms of medals, he is the most successful Olympic athlete of all time, not necessarily the best. ;) Maybe if he wins a medal at the 2016 or 2020 games he could be considered for that sort of title, as swimming that kind of sport in which this achievement is "easier" than others purely due to the nature of the event.

well where killing the chinese in Basketball right now

Not too surprising when the U.S. team is comprised of millionare profesional athletes. 'Twas a time when only amateur athletes were allowed. I see they've also adusted the rules so these idjits can actually play. IMO they should have to pay to play.

BTW, anybody know why baseball wasn't included this year?

.....well maybe they couldn't find a third country to take the bronze......... ::) (joking ;))

Incidentally how many countries do play rounders ....er sorry... baseball? To international standards I mean........Not too many I suspect.......commoner ;)

I'm watching Olympic Baseball right now. US is beating South Korea 1 zip.
