Wow, that was amazing.  I tried to beat beefhole here to make a post but I got a phone call (about the game).  That was one of the best games I have ever seen (not the best) but an epic for sure.  I think I'll be up for a while yet because I'm so fired up I don't expect to be able to sleep anytime soon.  Again, wow.

If the Rose Bowl is half that good, it will be a great game.

Aye, I'm talking to my best friend on AIM right now (it's his dad who is the PSU alumnus that takes us to games when my dad doesn't get tickets)-we were each at separate Orange Bowl parties, but we both agree we're not going to bed any time soon.

I was so emotionally invested in this team, my nerves are completely shot right now! (remember, I'm an Eagles fan-we tend to attach ;D)

I knew that first quarter "wide left" conversion attempt would come back to haunt us.

Considering the 10 point spread I'd say we put up a good fight.  Definitely one of the best football games ever.

Boy Webb, I couldn't agree more.  I've had three near death experiences in the last half-year and nothing rattled me as much as this game ;D

Argh. I went to bed right after halftime and the score was 14-13. Guess I should've stayed up.. :P

I heard it went into triple overtime?

Yeah, but if you were a hardcore fan of one of the teams it was no ordinary triple overtime.  A combined FIVE game winning field goals were missed by the kickers of both teams, keeping the game alive.

Who the heck goes to bed at halftime of a practically tied bowl game?

To Beefhole - the better team won but we damn sure made you fight for it, didn't we.  Nice seeing JoePa and Bobby all friendly after the game because, after all, it's only a game.

(BTW - Bobby still has more lifetime victories!  ;D)

You sure as hell did-since we won, I'm happy you didn't stick to the gameplan given to you by every expert and lose by 14 points ;D

I thought the spread was 10 but either way there are a lot of people that bet on Penn State and lost.

Well, I must admit that the Rose Bowl was a pretty good game as well-it deffinately lived up to the hype (I'm suprised I can say that).  I really thought USC would win, but Texas played a much better game (all game) and really earned their title.  Once again, Vince Young had an amazing Rose Bowl performance.

Its safe to say I think Young will now enter the draft.. I am guessing his decision would be based on winning the national title. Unless he really wants the Hiesman, it is his for the taking next season.

He has actually been indicating that he will return to Texas next year-but that was before last night.  I think he would be best to do that, he needs to refine his passing a little more-specifically his touch on the deep ball.  If he does that, he would probably be the #1 pick in the draft.  As he stands now, he is probably the #2 QB to be picked.

I look at his numbers from last night and think to myself how differant the headlines would have been if he didn't get that TD. He had no passing TD's and had to run for over 200 yards. It worked out in the end and he's a hero, had they lost. He would have been crucified for those sorts of numbers last night.

I don't know about that Craig, if you watch the game film you will see that he had a very solid game even when it was looking like they were going to lose (USC was leading 38-26 with about 7:00 left).  I felt that Texas had outplayed USC the whole game and I thought the that Trojans were going to pull it out.  When he ran it into the endzone, he capped a brillant game with a huge TD.  Even if they had lost, I think he would have been given a lot of credit for what he did.
