How much did I spend? I really don't know. I have a lot of payware but most of it I got for free (legally). My pc has been build over the years, updating an old one, I have a Saitek yoke and a X-52. So maybe a few hundred Euro.

How did I get payware for free? It's quite simple. I sometimes do little jobs for friends and family. Rebuilding a kitchen, fixing things and stuff. I don't want to be paid for that but they sometimes want to give me something in exchange. Since most of them know I'm a flightsim addict, they buy me stuff I like. Plus I have a loving and understanding wife who gives me some items for my birthday or Christmas.

1.) Buy computer

2.) Buy new sim program

3.) Buy add on aircraft

4.) Buy add on airports

5.) Buy add on ground textures

6.) Buy add on sky textures

7.) Buy new slick yoke and pedals (or joystick)

8.) Buy more and faster RAM

9.) Buy new faster video card

10.) Buy new faster CPU.

11.)  Buy new faster OS

12.)  Go to step 1

Long before MSFS became a passion of mine, I set aside an imaginary $100 per month to keep myself in decent gaming hardware.. and heave always spent it, and then some..  ala over $4,000 (in 1985 dollars) for a 80386-based gaming monster (I think it ran at an earth-shattering 333Mghz).. the monitor alone was $1200.

Since my MSFS addiction (FS2000), hardware has gotten much less expensive..  but I've still managed to over-draw my imaginary account.. so .. $100/month X 10 years =   :-X

Prob  :-X  X 1.5 when you count payware, and design software..  ::)
