I still want an Ohio michigan rematch. Would be a great game. USC dont deserve the 2 though. They lost to an average team in colorado, where as Michigan played a blinder against Ohio. But as long as it isn't ND in the big game i'm happy.

See, I'm struggling with all of this because Notre Dame and Florida are 2 of my favorite teams (the others being Oregon and Air Force).  Florida has had an amazing season and has had a much harder schedule than Ohio St., Michigan, or USC.  Yet, Michigan, USC and Florida are all 1 lose teams (Michigan and Florida being 11-1 and USC being 10-1 pending the game against UCLA this weekend).  Assuming the Gators beat #8 Arkansas this weekend and win the SEC with a 12-1 record how can you say they don't deserve to play for the national title.

I a perfect world, both USC and Florida would lose this weekend and kill the debate.  However, I doubt that happens.

Plus, the Seminoles...the Seminoles Craig :-/.  Next to Washington, they represent the evil of college football.  Its a great NCAA with both UW and FSU unranked.

I understand your dislike for Notre Dame...they are kind of the NCAA equil to the NY Yankees-you either love them or you hate them.  I have always loved them and always will.  Hopefully they get a decent bowl bid (I'm sure they will).

Hi Richie, we've gone into the ND one in the past so you know my dislike and why,:)
I am not a big fan of Florida seeing as they beat Bama, as you know they are my team, who also just fired Schula but oh well.
I wont argue they deserve a look, and I feel the SEC has been screwed over a number of times when it comes to the national title game recently.

This year (assuming Florida wins the SEC title) and a few years ago when Auburn went undefeated the SEC got screwed-especially that year (2004?).  I understand, the Pac-10 has gotten screwed a couple times too (especially 2001, who knows-perhaps my Ducks could have held the Sears Trophy that year).  I have been resisting it, but I feel that we need a playoff.  College football is the only sport where the champion is not determined on the field and that needs to change.

As for Florida, I understand-they are one of the powers in that conference and probably an annual thorn in Alabama's side.  But, I'd be interested to hear your opinion of Auburn and the Iron Bowl.

I am a Florida fan mainly because I was a big Danny Wuerffel fan in the mid 1990s and I just stuck with them.  He was their QB from 1993-96 and won 4 SEC titles and the 1996 national title.  He is probably the best QB to ever play college football and a really great humanitarrian on top of that.  So, I was a huge fan of his and I just stuck with the Gators (plus FSU is evil).

And yes, we have discussed the ND thing in the past and I was just giving you a hard time.  Remember, I have to root for them because Joe Montana was my favorite player and on top of that I'm a Catholic.
