Compare the horses with this mindless crap which was exhibited at the Tate Gallery in London in search of the Turner Prize...
...including a pile of house bricks...and a pile of Elephant poo. etc...etc...

Once upon a time, non-figurative art had a purpose (to shake up the moribund status quo), and it could actually move people (which is the purpose of art), but I agree, now it's all about gimmickry and the delusion of snobs believing they're supporting something that shocks the bourgeoisie... yawn...when DuChamp put his name on a toilet and sold it to a gallery, that was important, if a bit gimmicky.  But most of the stuff I see now is just cleverness for its own sake (and not very clever at that); I'd rather gaze at a DaVinci drawing.

I'd rather gaze at a DaVinci drawing.

Or my wall.  All of which are painted white and have next to nothing on them, mind you.
