I have a feeling last night we saw the end of Brett Favres career. Or certainly his last MNF game. I hope not as he is probably the only QB playing today who will be remembered along side Marino, Elway and Montana.
You know, I really think Brett Favre will play next season. I get the feeling that he is not the kind of guy who wants to go out like this and he deffinately still has the ability to play at this level. I also really think Green Bay will be a lot better next year (they have had a lot of injuries and stand to get a good player in the draft). So, I think Favre will play one more season.
Also, is this the last MNF season? I know they were talking about ending it-but I don't know when the last year is. I was wondering if your comment about this being Favre's final MNF game is because Green Bay is so bad this year therefore they won't get one next year or if this is the final MNF year period.
You are right that Favre will deffinately be put in the same group as Montana, Marino and Elway. But, I disagree that he is the last QB playing that will. I think that Peyton Manning is deserving of that group, or at least he will be by the time he retires. He is already drawing a lot of comparisions to Dan Marino because of his throwing style, quick release, and high numbers. I think if he wins a Super Bowl (which Marino never did) he will probably be put into this group. Another QB who will eventually be put into this elite group from this era is Tom Brady. His post season success and late game poise has already caused him to draw comparissions to Joe Montana. So, I think the way he is going, even if he never wins another Super Bowl, that he will also be in this group-he just is a little young yet.
