Hey Katahu what age is a child at - adults can argue too.... ;)

Woody am I not right? I put myself on the same level as you - a teenager - and said in other words what do we both know of US poltics?
I follow UK politics very hard as it ties in with my studies - thus US politics is inevitably studied, yet I wouldn't make such assumptions like that. My Dad is doing politics in his degree (2nd year) and my sister is doing A2 politics. I wonder if Woody will be watching Question Time at 10:35 tonight then? That is a beginners no.1!

That all aside: 1) Politics is banned - that's it. 2) I think you are being a pessimistic critique of Bush rather than an analyst of fact.  You just don't like Bush! :P

Ben - out of this thread.

All I can say is this. In 2004, just before an election, G W Bush made a promise to send man back to the moon. We all know that if he wasn't re-elected then chances are what he said would not be carried out and therefore to fulfill his promise he would need to be re-elected. That makes it an election promise.

Now let me tell you something else. If I don't know what i'm talking about, then I don't talk about it. :P

Listen up chaps. If we have to think about every little thing that could possibly offend or upset somebody it would be impossible to have a sensible discussion about anything. Woody's only mistake here was in mentioning a politician by name. As politics comes into this it affects politicians of all parties. I know nothing of US politics nor do I care to. I don't even remember which party JFK belonged to without looking it up

PS. We've both made our points & I see no need to add to what we've already said.

I agree. There's no need to beat around the bush. :)

I always say - regret the adventures you DON'T make - not those you do make. (necessary thought process assumed included... :) m)

Without risk takers & people prepared to throw 'sensibility' & 'accountants/lawyers' to the wayside - we'd have nothing of the lifestyle we enjoy today.

I throw my hat off to the huge passion that has gone into space exploration so far.  It's the element of human being that has got us this far - perhaps we are going too far too soon as far as the stuff we're pumping out is concerned - but I have hope that the same mentality will derive the essential alternative solution to the carbon fuels we currently consume - & very quickly!! ;).

We absolutely need the venturism & freedom to think beyond.

Oh & Doug - Kennedy was democrat. I would have though obviously.. ...............................  ;)

Mark is probably wondering what his next marmalade detterent will be - will he use marmalade armed bombers or will he keep the ballistic marmalade missiles with the submarines...

I'm a great admirer of Winston Churchill & he changed his political allegiance at least once during his long career.

Twice infact. From the Conservatives, to the Liberals and back to the Conservatives again.

Ay, I very much respect him for that. He didn't move policies with the party, he stuck to his policies and moved parties! Not many of them these days. 8)
