Somehow, I doubt that it will do any good. I would be interested to see his reply though.

The way I see it, some bloke I've never heard of putting SimV on his own personal hate list is not going to stop everyone from visiting the site. Just let him get on with it if thats what he wants to do. It's going to take more than one person to give SimV the sort of reputation Ferdies got. :P

P.s. I've just looked, his forum, where that is posted has less than 500 members. That means that barely 500 people are going to see that post and the chances are that they either already use SimV or never would anyway. :P So whats the point in getting so worked up about it.

From what I can make out one of the files in question is Flight Sim Manager. http://www.ranainside.com/software_flig ... nager.html which is also posted at SimV. http://www.simviation.com/fs2004utilities4.htm This is not the latest version & I noticed is that no credit is given to the developer on the SimV download page.

mmmm ... no wonder I couldn't find it .....  I was searching under Hassain's name ...

Deleted with pleasure ..

The guy has not heard of communication. I got a message from him once & removed a file.  I even contacted hium again on another occasion when the file was uploaded again  so see if he had uploaded it - It was jot posted.

I can no way launch an investigation into every upload. Let's face it - 99.99 are fine ....... &&&

This happens to every site.

Like some have said - the guy should have done his research prior to making this accusation -

This chap had the star download on the PC Pilot free CD a few months back, and his software is quite well known (Flightsim gold award etc...)

I would be interested in know that. Many times, a guy uploads a file he has worked on; panel, acft., effects, repaints....etc., and maybe he used a bit of someone else's work AND actually tried to get permission, but no response. Then too, some files contain no or very vague copyright guidelines.

If all he finds are two obscure files of HIS, he's lucky. He should scoot over to you know where and see how many of his files are there.

Some time ago i discovered that one of the old (version 1 or 2) ruspack AFCAD packages showed up on flightsim.com... whitout any mentioning of the author

To be honest: For most of the flightsim stuff i make i really don't care what happens with it. When someone enjoys it and thinks that they need to make these files available elsewhere so more people can benefit from it, go ahead.

If there is something i would keep from spreading, i can take care of that not by matter of whining and spreading false rumours but by using the available technology to get to my goal

It is like Pete says you can't check every upload against every other site on the net ::)
Obviously Rana hasn't got a clue, and frankly the manners of well no manners! So just ignore him and I'm sure he'll go away.
If he wants abusers then FSPirate are the world champs, and I know for a fact No-nodes have several of mine that shouldn't be there, and I've asked for them to be removed and never had a response. Frankly Pete just runs a better class of site and puts people first, that is why we're here regularly (thank goodness I have more free periods at school now ;D)

That doesn't mean that I know of him. I'd be hard pressed to name a dozen FS developers. :P

I have been running emails back and forth and I hope he'll remove it shortly and this can close

All I can say is all those rude emails haven't helped a bit in trying to solve something.

Hopefully he will remove it in a few hours time.

He's obviously clueless to the real nature of this site.  Noticed that nice sticky topic he supplied http://softwares.ranainside.com/forum/v ... m.php?f=15

Hopefully no one bothers to take that advice :-/

With so many downloads available there is no possible way to check them all.   Question on my mind is if he possibly had any connections to the troll problem awhile back  :-X

While I am not Rana, nor am I a mind reader, I believe that the reason he singled you (this site) out is because you are NOT in the same category as the abuser sites. I think that he thinks that you can find unauthorized software (or not applying to his select ware policy)

Basically, I think, he just wants the files removed and a confirmation email.

P.S. it really is a good piece of software, you should try it.
P.S.S. I am not a rep of Ranainside.

Paul - thanks for the response from the "other"  side.

I maintain that it was some overenthusiastic fan of the work that uploaded the files.

The known and identified files are gone.  What remains is either an exchange of e-mails between the principals, or a simmering distrust between both parties.  Either way, it's out of our hands, and between the principals.
