So I t guess weve concluded that is either a dead satilite, or a secret military plane.... or Fozzers cooker. It orbits the sun passing close by once every so often, like a comet.

As for the pictures, that look like a 747 or A340 to me with a large contrail being reflected by the evening sun.

Re-entering space junk (like a spent booster, etc).  Excellent photos, by the way.

I'm leaning towards it being a normal contrail, only because the shape remains the same in each photo. If it were re-entering debris or a meteorite, it'd probably  be tumbling and/or breaking apart. It'd probably also be a lot brighter (hotter), esp. at the center. And its speed would be obviously greater than that of any aircraft you've ever seen crossing the sky, even at a low altitude.
It is a funny-looking contrail, though- but that's probably due to the high-contrast sunset light (that'd explain why you don't see an aircraft in front of it).

I do not belive it was a normal contrail my reasons for thinking this are:

1. It was moveing at, at least twice the speed of any airliner ive everseen

2. It was at a very high altiude

3. It was decending very fast

4. Because of the position of me the object and the sun i would have thought that i would have seen an aircraft silhouette as the oblect would have be back lit from the sun I have tried to explain this in the pic below

I still think it was an aircraft. The low sunlight from below can give strange effects which I've seen many times. I'll take a photo at the next opportunity but the conditions have to be just right. It's possible it was space junk but if this was the case I'm sure others would have spotted it & that it would have been reported in the local media.

So, from this thread i've learnt that no one knows that the thing in the pictures is and that Fozzer is currently trapped under a pointy hat with a bobble on top.
