I'm British and quite young (21) and i for one am a supporter of our Royal Family. So many of my friends just seem to think she is an overpaid highest class snob who does nothing.

The Queen and Prince Phillip do a lot, not in the traditional roles you think of when you think of the old English monarchs but a lot of engagements for the interest of Britain and the UK. If we must call her an Ambassador she is the best Ambassador in the world in my opinion.

End of that little rant, sorry.

I am also quite keen to learn what the Canadians and Australians think of the Queen and the English monarchy as head of state for them, I read the other day that once Elizabeth II pop her cloggs the Canadians are considering separating from the crown, is this a general consensus or just usual anti-monarchy talk that has made its way to the BBC main page?

J. I do believe we are not a commonwealth nation anymore. I can see Canadians alliegance to the Queen around every corner I turn, She is on our money, every time I pay a traffic fine her picture is prominent on our courthouse walls.
I would love to meet her myself. BBC must be playing up something we are unaware of. !!!!!!!!  ;)
