A close native African friend of ours states that most native Africans can instantly recognise a Somali person, and treat them as dangerous, and avoid them.

...I had a roommate from Ghana last year, and he pretty much told me the same thing.

It's true. My wife (Nigerian) can do the same thing. To me they are pretty much the same but she can instantly say from which part of Africa (sometimes even which country) they are from.
