Well thats what I call it but its called the Tilde on the poll.

I mean it is useless inless your trying to hypnotize someone...

Pause has to be the most useless. I barely have applications that use the key.

Caps Lock - good for yelling .
Tilde (~) - brings up the developers console on some games (I use it quite a lot.
Scroll Lock - never used it in my life
Pause - i assume this is a media key? I use it quite a lot when i need to quickly pause music without interrupting anything else.
The Windows key - use it for the shortcuts (eg. windows + r = run)
Insert - useless (but annoying when i was younger and didn't know why my letters were deleting while changing something back in the page.)
^ - is actually very useful as it means to the power of and i use it quite a lot in maths applications.
Tab - EXTREMELY USEFUL - goes to the next box on a webpage, leaves a uniform gap in microsoft word.
/ - take a look in your address bar
F12 - never use

So in conclusion scroll lock and F12 are the two most useless keys.

But insert is worse than useless. it actually causes trouble so i vote it.

Useful:

Tilde - keystroke for dev console
Pause Break - used to pause Black Shark and STALKER
Windows - brilliant shortcut to Start menu
Tab - moves to the next box on a webpage
F12 - takes screenshots in multiple video games

Useless:

Scroll lock - what does does this do again?
^ - only useful in text chat for me
Insert - the most annoying key when activated, worse yet is the fact that there is no indication of when it is activated

Caps Lock - on the occasion I type a line in capital letters.
Tilde (~) - not often but I use it as a mathmatical @ equivelent as well as a waveform/frequency symbol.
Scroll Lock - I haven't had to lock a scroll up so far.
Pause|Break - it's my assigned key for game Pause in cFS (default game Pause in AoE).
The Windows key - especially to exit from a full-screen, slow to pause UbiSoft game to the desktop.
Tab - frequently used when typing text in Notepad/Wordpad.
F12 - the assigned key to close new windows in CFS.

Windows key...
Ever accidentally bumped the windows key while playing a game, the computer switches to the desktop, and your game or flightsim crashes? Annoying as hell...

Yes, annoying... but CFS -- and others -- just minimizes and I reclick it to full screen and press the Pause|Break key to continue.

Useful:
Tab - moves to the next box on a webpage

Along with the Arrow keys, also cycles you through the desktop sections should the mouse disconnect.

I just went with the one that I can't remember ever using. Pause works as a "pause" button in a lot of games, Age of Empires (all 3 of them) comes to mind. And I'm sure I've used F12 for something at some point in my life. However I don't even know what scroll lock is supposed to do, I'm guessing it's an antiquated function the isn't needed on modern PCs.

Tilde is used extensively in non English languages... Portuguese for one, makes vast use of it
