Can't help to wonder if the entire cost of this could have better been used in the direction of replacing our reliance on fossil fuels.
'Tis butt the start -- the price of gasoline/petrol will soon have reached Pluto and its value will be considered quite diminutive to what it once was.

P.S. Sometimes a typo fits the part.

It's interesting, but they spent millions and millions of dollars to spend a space vehicle millions of miles to get a little bit of ice?

They could of walked to the kitchen and got ice out of the icemaker..... ;D

I agree, we've got more important things to worry about on our own planet than worrying about ice on another planet that's millions of miles away.... ::)

I'm quite amazed that the two Mars rovers, which were only supposed to last around 90 days, are still alive and working after four years. You have a hard time getting that kind of service out of flesh-and-blood people these days. You can visit the NASA website if you are interested in following the progress of the Phoenix mission.

Time has taken a tole on the rovers though. Spirit's front wheel is in operative due to dust I think.

Yes, regardless of my thoughts about how the cash could be better spent, that is quite amazing.......................That's if you believe they are really on Mars and not in a hanger filled with red rock and sand in some secret NASA facility. My contact at the Daily Sport and National Enquirer tells me that the janitor has been having a great laugh for the last 4 years and changing the battery every two weeks ;D ;D

Yes it is. Mr. Brando, the Nasa junkie watched the landing live. I was jumping up and down with the controlers. I honestly thought it would fail in  the last part of the landing.
