Glad to see this thread has moved itself onto happier topics than some idiot trying to make a point; SimV is such an optimistic place... ;D

Seriously though, whilst they may not agree with how china's been conducting itself there are better ways to demonstrate it than that.... though by the way Fozzer's talking maybe it wasn't china he was protesting about but rather the fact that the olympics exist in the first place... ;D ::)

Wherever in the world the "Olympics" are staged, you can bet your boots that there are going to be problems and trouble...from past experience...;)...

...rather like "Football Matches"... :o...!

It's a "Sport" sort of thing...;)...!

Certain Folks take advantage of it!

God knows how much all this is costing the Tax Payers around the World, and does little, I see, in eluviating hunger, disease, and poverty around the World...
What? Are you suggesting alleviating the afflictions by population reduction in hot quicksand? :o ;D ;D

Eliminating the population of the World eager to watch the Olympic Games, in hot quicksand would just leave me and my close Family in peace and quiet!... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]...!

...Jeez......what with that burning lump of wood doing an 87,000 trip to China through all those countries and the carbon fuels burnt getting it there by air, rail, road, sweaty bodies etc and all the other stuff associated with this useless exercise, we'll  have enough hot air to treble the rate of Global warming....cremating half a billion souls in hot sand would be more than enough to create total meltdown........sorry Fozz .....'fraid no peace for you and yours........too blo0dy hot.........commoner :P ;D

...you would surmise that Human Beings, in the state of evolution achieved so far, could put their minds to more important "things" than rushing around the World carrying a Burning Stick!.... ::)...

I rather assumed that particular problem was cured with the invention of the "Safety Match"...most everyone now has access to a "light" if required?... :)...!

Absolutely not intending a religious venture (insomuch that the very mention of 'evolution' is such to some, as this attests; howbeit, I'll much abbreviate the conversation). Last week someone said they couldn't understand how anyone could really think we began as apes.
I said, "I can."
"What! How can you believe there's a [sentient] God -- and evolution!"
I replied, "I said I could believe He created us as apes, not that I believe in evolution..."

:-X
