That's just ridiculous... $3 million worth of good sound and image quality and $3 million worth of status.

"That is pretty sad that these people spend millions of dollars worth of crap just to enjoy watching a movie when people in other countries are starving..."
That's what my mum said to that. I agree but then again it is their money.

I agree, he can do what he wants... and  we have no way of knowing how generous he is with his money; maybe he's given more than $6 million to charity, who knows?

I just think he didn't need to spend so much to get the same effect... you certainly get what you pay for with A/V gear, but there's a point where you're just paying to make others envious. Silly.

Don't knock him just cause he spent money...that amount of money has probably been spent on even more pointless stuff.  All I know is I would love to play video games on that thing...

I'm into HT, what he has is excellent, but terribly done. Basically lots of kit thrown into a room with no after thought. 6 million on a HT and he couldn't get expensive sofa? That looks like something was given free to a mate. Why are the amps in the way? 16 subwoofers in a room is overkill and will sound terrible, I don't see any PEQ hardware.

Also for HT, I wouldn't use tubes, I'd have a top end monoblocs, ie Chord, Krell that sort of thing.

And I've just noticed flooring....oh dear.

Again, it's not the money, or the fact that it's not anything "useful"... it's about him wanting the world to believe that because it cost so much, it's better than, say, a $1 million system.
I've installed half- million-dollar systems, and they are usually more than adequate. ;D
It's a lot of trendy BS if you ask me- most people now want to intimidate and impress with their A/V- not actually enjoy really good quality sound and visuals.

But yes, I agree- I'd rather play games on that than my 19" CRT and weak 2.1 speaker system... ;D
