Why does the QM2 need a security cordon in America anyway? You don't get hunted down and arrested if you get that close when the ships parked in Southampton.

A bobbing ball that is navigating itself around any water way with no navigation lights etc. would raise any suspicion.


I'd be more suspicious of a ball that had navigation lights. Besides, it was a rubber dinghy.
