If you've got proof that Katrina and this bridge collapse are some sort of conspiracy then I'd like to hear it.

Here are my consipiracy theories...

Katrine was started by a butterfly, and the Engineers who built the bridge that just collapsed had ties to the Tacoma Narrows bridge.

Those you presented with tongue firmly planted in cheek make about as much sense as those presented by others in all seriousness.

My attempt at making a point with sarcasm obviously didn't work. Must......try.........harder.... ::)

Well, now that we misunderstand eachother... ;)

Like Alrot, I just wonder how this could happen. There must have been some warning signs.

Jesus , :o I really got to be more careful in my writting :o, I was upset with the engineers ,or contract who makes this bridges ,is not the deal of making them ,get the money and that's all ,it shoud be check it every week or month at least...

I would never believe it falls because was an accident ,Of course it was and there have to be resposibles for this,  I was saying all this because I heard and interview of someone in the charge of these thing, was saying that they are going to take caution in other bridges thru all the country ,and I said Why ? because you needed a tragedy to keep and eye on this...they need 50 deceaced for this ,for the love of God... :'(

I think I heard other bridges falling causeing some death in the past, like In Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

I heard on the radio today (they had an expert on bridge construction on) and apparently the bridge in question had been inspected and signs of stress were found. So the bridge was declared hazardous. It wasn't enough for them to close it though. It seems standards of bridge integrity are a bit lapse in America.

You know it's sad that people don't take care of small repairs on things before big stuff like this happens. This is why I don't generally like government operated stuff. Things get taken care of if it's a private owned thing rather than the state owning it because if the person doesn't manage his company or system than he loses money. The government doesn't pay the price for it's mismanagement therefore they don't care what they do.  ;) RIP to the known people who died.  :'(

Yeah, I was being over-sensitive, I'm sorry.  It's so hard to read emotion over the internet.  I thought you were saying "oh look, those stupid Americans.  First they can't build a city that can withstand a hurricane and now their bridges are falling down.  Hey, if you're an American you don't have to be.  It's not your fault you were born there, home is where your heart is".

And that's OBVIOUSLY not what you were saying.  Quite the opposite in fact.  Sorry I so grossly misinterpreted your post.  I've since removed my original post since it was so absolutely wrong.

I was upset with the engineers ,or contract who makes this bridges ,is not the deal of making them ,get the money and that's all ,it shoud be check it every week or month at least....

Are you familiar with the Space Shuttle Challenger tragety?  I suspect this investigation will look eriely similar to that one:  Engineers were probably screaming to their management that the bridge was unsafe and their management probably dismissed their warnings as overly-alarmist.  After all, it takes a lot of political risk to close an Interstate for bridge repair.  And every day that went by where the bridge DIDN'T fall the managers felt they made the right decision.  After all, bridges don't just fall...

And ultimately they were wrong.

Anyway, that's my guess.

Surely, you can find a broader brush to paint with while in the midst of this tragedy.
