I admire your determination but just be careful. This latest obsession with healthy eating & exercise worries me. The way I see it, the do-gooders have won against the smokers so they need another part of the community to pick on. They seem to conveniently forget that this could easily cause serious eating disorders like anorexia & bulemia, especially in young women.

I suspect the slight depression you mention might well be the cause of your being overweight. It's a Catch 22 situation really but if you could stop worrying about it the pounds might drop off. (Hagar's theory. ;))

I agree, there is ALWAYS someone complaining. Some people cant help been overweight.. Afterall its SOCIETY just as much who has been causing it..

I love my food, but the food i love is (to my advantage) is good food , such as Veg. etc. I have no urge to stop eating or even go on a LOWER diet, if i do that..it CANT be good for you, it leads to depression.
Which leads to this... I dont usually have a "Depression" as such, alot of people think its just something you get after a long day at work.. But for me it happens rarely, but its the strangest effect, it effects my descion making, mood, and attitude..and the morning after you think.."why the heck was i like that yesterday?"

But its not a bad depression at all, it doesn't run in the family. I just WANT and WILL get into shape before its too late and im older, 'cos its harder to workout and the depression/health, will with time, get worse, and worse.

Its a cruel world, but like everyone else, you just 'gotta live it!

Another thing. If you seriously want to lose weight stay off the beer. (I don't mean the occasional half of lager.) I can guarantee you would soon be like a split pin without all this diet & exercise nonsense.

This might be extremely difficult as I know what you Yorkies are like. :P

Only advice I have is this:
1)  never eat anything bigger than your head.

2) leave the remote on top of the TV so you'll have to walk over to get it before settling onto the sofa.

I don't exactly believe in diets, other than for strict medical reasons...

I think moderation, variation and a bit of thinking about your food actually works the best...

Everyone knows that denying yourself all the things you like will get you in the end. So instead of not eating some foods at all, I think one should lower the quantity of it instead.

And don't get me started on fitness and workouts... i've been such a fool that drove it's car for several miles to go sit on a bike that doesn't go anywhere, walk stairs that weren't there and actually pay for it!!! No thanks, I prefer the real deal...  ;D

One last interesting thing... scientist worked out a while ago, that having a good session of lovemaking actually burns more calories than any other sport!!! And it's beneficial for you and your partner...  ;D Not sure if the solo version counts though...  ;D  ;D  ;D

Treadmill: 20mins
Cross trainer: 20mins
Bike: 10mins
Other Bike: 10mins

Keep your heart rate above 120 the entire time you do your circuit.

:o That was my first thought. 12 stone sounds about right, unless you're a midget vertically challenged person. http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/logout/news_features/idealweight_m.htm

i'm going to be complete honest here, i'm 5ft4 and yep according to the list i'm underweight, but i've had a fair few probs due to steriod inhalers which has supressed my immune system and also made me pile on the extra weight, before the inhalers i had difficulty gaining weight and because of the steroids i was 12 stone by the time i was 15, 4ft9 and overweight
