In Holland you have the following big ones
[*]Westfries (North of Alkmaar, usually older people who still speak it)
[*]Amsterdams (Amsterdam)
[*]Utregs (Utrecht)
[*]Haags (the Hague)
[*]Rotterdams (rotterdam)
[*]Drents (Province Drenthe)
[*]Gronings (not spoken in the city Groningen, only in the rural areas)
[*]Frisian (Province Friesland, and the northern part of Groningen up to Germany). Extends all the way to Denmark
[*]Limburgs (Province Limburg)
Usually this is shortened to the following in the northwestern part of the country:
[*]Amsterdams
[*]Westfries (anything above the Noordzeekanaal)
[*]Frisian, Gronings and Drents (which nobody in the west can understand)
[*]Brabants (which for some people is everything below [*]Rotterdam up to the border of France)
And to make it even worse... almost all of these accents can come in local variations, and the large city ones can have some exotic flavour added
