Anyway, this is the result of years of antibiotics abuse in the USA.
If you do a search, the 'meat eating bacteria' thing is getting really bad in Florida. It seems they have a resistant strain of these bacteria there.

You'll be surprised on how many patients don't use their medications correctly. As you all know, I work in the pharmacy and one of the many things I'm responsible for is knowing how each drug should and shouldn't be taken.

In the case of antibiotics, you have to take ALL of the antibiotics and as directed by the prescribing physician without missing a dose. If you don't, the infection can become resistant to the medication and further complications can result.

Did you know that most patients wouldn't feel the side effects and will be healthy sooner if they took the medication EXACTLY AS DIRECTED? Unfortunately, most patients don't take it as directed. Some don't take them correctly for a reason [they forget]. Have you ever seen a patient walk out of a pharmacy with a bag-load of 30+ prescription?

This incident sounds like it goes far beyond simple lawsuits.  I'd hope the District Attourney is looking in to criminal charges, starting with the person who won't release the details of the event to the patient and progressing from there.  If this is indeed a screwup then somebody deserves some jail time.

Last time i've seen a pharmacy from inside is many many years ago.
Only thing bothering me is a once-a-year cold which is over in a few days usually

Oooo!  That reminds me of a story...

My mother was on a medication for her back...now on the label...in big letters read:

DO NOT USE DRINK ALCOHOL WHILE USING THIS MEDICATION

Later on in the week, she went out with some friends to a Mexican Restaurant (what passes for one in Northern Michigan anyways).  She had a Margarita, then passed out in the bathroom...

Her friends had to help her in because she had hurt her food.  The next day, she could barely move, so I had to miss work to take her to the Emergency room.

It turned out that she had broken her foot.  I was so pissed.  I mean, what part of that warning did she not understand.  And she was, of course, unapologetic about it (saying things like: "I hadn't taken a pill for a long time" or "The Margarita did not have that much alcohol in it").

By ignoring the warning, she had made life hard for me as well as I had not only my daughter, but her to take care of as well.

The hospital "says" that she had streptococcus, a flesh eating bacteria, and toxic shock syndrome, but the fact that they're being vauge raises my suspisions.

Funny how she managed to get necrotizing fasciitis in all four limbs without any direct transfer through the body trunk. Now I don't know nuthin' about nuthin' but it seems to me that if one was to contract a horribly virulent strain of A Strep; one likely would know about it.  ::) :-/

Can you say "I now own your hospital"?

Yeah - unfortunately I can also say "We have enough money, resources, lawyers and cover-ass procedures to keep this tied up in the courts long after you go broke paying your lawyer and court costs." :-(
Hospitals are prepared for lawsuits; and don't often lose.  :-[
