The sad side of it is that now I have to PAY someone to do my taxes!!!
You know very well that you don't have to pay someone else... you can mess them up all on your own! ;D 8)

LOL

I do my own, and I've never had the IRS call me because of a mistake.

Oh wait, I once somehow made a mistake tallying up the numbers or something when doing my state taxes, and got a letter telling me that I didn't have to check a certain option and that I would get $10 credited or added to my refund.

It's been a long time, but I do remember that happening 8)

My last tax return was about $500. However, that's nothing compared to what my friend got in her tax returns. She got $3,000 back from Uncle Sam! :o

Obviously she wasted it away. You know how most women are. But then again, we men are no different when it comes to plasma tv, home theater, fast computers, fancy cell phones, expensive MP3 players, etc. ::)

Just remember one thing - the LESS you "get back" means the more money YOU had during the year and that you did not lend out to "the guvimmint" on an interest free loan.

In the case of the girl "getting" $3000.00 (of her own money) back, if she'd planned correctly, then she would have had that money for herself.

The ideal situation, of course, is where you end up with $0 owed, and $0 refund.

This year I KNOW I'll have to pay someone to properly do my taxes - installment sale, income recognized, etc. etc.
