If you were to shoot at a car with teenagers acting like...well...teenagers, do you really think it would be justice?
Can you put
your hand on a bible and say you never did anthing stupid when you were that young?
lderly drivers are actually among the best & get reduced insurance premiums because of it. Female drivers are also considered more careful than males of any age. I'm not sure this applies to the young female drivers I've seen around here who are if anything worse than their male counterparts, not only where driving is concerned.
I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing here Hagar. Here in Northern Michigan, there is a
huge population of elderly. I'm talking people who drive
too slow (such as 25 in a 45 zone), who have very poor reaction times due to things like poor eyesight, beginning of dementia, or both. Or those who have dizzy spells due to diabetes. People who obviously
shouldn't be driving.
You have to practically move Heaven and Earth to get a driver's license revoked for such a person (outside of their being involved in some catastrophic accident

). Sometimes doctors or police can rever them to the Dept. of Transportation, but it's usually the families who have to resort to tricks to keep them from driving.
Part of this is due to the fact that America, with some exceptions, has piss-poor public transportation systems (especially in rual areas). It's also due to this:
Being able to drive = independence
That's mostly what it's about. America is all about the rugged individual. And the loss of independence is devastating (and not only here).
But as I said, even taking that into accout, their accident rate does not measure up to those of teenage drivers.
