I would like to discuss this but am not allowed to without breaking forum rules. Let's just say Germany (& France) today - rest of Europe tomorrow. ::)

If I & many like me had our way we would pull out tomorrow if not sooner no matter how much it cost. The whole concept is flawed & riddled with corruption from top to bottom.

I thought that it was all EU...

Hey, flame a little more why don'cha?  Mah burger's still rare...

I'm all for the forced-into-employment idea

The thing about that is, as it's practiced today (in America), it's a broken system.  People get forced into jobs that don't pay enough to live on.  In the area of Flint, (Michigan), a single mother was forced into two low-paying jobs, and spent even more time on the bus getting to and from work (public transportation sucks in that area).  And the combined jobs were not even enough to cover her rent.  And what do you think that did to her kid that she was not there to be a mother to?

I could live with that.

Wasn't that in one Michael Moore movie?

Maggie Thatcher was the British Prime Minister. I don't know how this compares with Angela Merkel who is the first female German Chancellor. I believe that Indira Gandhi became the first female world leader when she was elected Prime Minister of India in 1966. http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/january/19/newsid_3745000/3745625.stm

This is a trifle pedantic & Pigeon has a very good point. ;)
