Me thinks he was reffering to Pidgeon... (?)

Because the pin was pulled...

If it was an old Grenade chances are the pin wasn't pulled. Also remember alot of the weapons in this area are not kept in good condition and will go off at the slightest touch. Walk down a street and you are likely to find some form of explosive if you look hard enough. Sadly these kids luck ran out.

And pigeon, you think my comments are out of line? oh yeah, good job ;)

We had our honeymoon in Croatia and had a police weapons dump go up on our last night there! That was funny 'cos the missus was scared silly but I took the view of "nothing hitting the hotel we're okay" and went straight back to sleep... I was not popular ;D

Kids are kids the world over. I'm sure they knew what it was but maybe didn't fully realise the danger. I read only recently about a young lad who took a live WWII vintage hand grenade to school for a history project. I think it belonged to his Dad or more likely his Grandad. When his teacher saw it they evacuated the school & called in the Bomb Disposal Squad who took it away & blew it up.

Poor little lad...
I bet he got a telling-off from his Dad for allowing his grenade to be destroyed by the bomb squad...!

We had a WWII grenade which my Dad collected...
It was empty of explosives, and had the fuse removed...completely harmless...
It was an ornament on the mantelpiece... ;D...!

My Dad would have cancelled my copy of the Beano if I had taken it to school, and got it blown up... :'(...!

LOL...!

Paul...still reading the Beano... ;D...!

Once at a friends house in Middle wallop we found close to 100 spent 9mm rounds in his backyard. No idea where they came from or why they were there. Took a couple as souveniers. No idea what happend to them but they were harmless.

All parts will be used as and when they arrive! It is a long term project Paul as this baby isn't an Airfix kit ;D

Mark...!
I'm sat here, glass of Australian red in hand, looking at this Spitfire bullet in front of me, and thinking to myself, (as I do), how long is it going to take Mark to change this bullet into a full size MK XIV Spitfire, complete with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine....and a Certificate To Fly...?
...and I bet Agi is thinking the same thing while she is getting the baby off to sleep, and struggling to cook the dinner at the same time... ;)...!
LOL... ;D... ;D... ;D...!

Paul...forever the sceptic...and flying his paper aeroplane across the room... 8)...!

Much cheaper, safer and readily avaliable Mr Fozzer.
P.S. shouldn't you be shredding that paper instead of flying it? ;D

LOL I think an Airfix kit is more practical. It's certainly much cheaper, less bother & the only chance I'll have owning a Spitfire. ;)

Doug - the miserable old cynic. Sorry Mark.

a full size MK XIV Spitfire, complete with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine....

Better change that to Mk IX before Mark sees it Paul. The Mk XIV has one of them Griffons. :o
