The report states,
"His clothes were measured by firemen as carrying a current of 40,000 volts, the Reuters news agency quoted Mr Barton as saying."
That is quite technically incorrect and Mr Barton would have been more correct to replace current with potential. If there is no flow, there is no current, which is commonly measured in amperes or some mathematical power thereof.

That's that sorted. ;D I did electricity in my physics, but I never learnt anything about the dangers of current/volts.
