What in th'wide, wide world o'sports are you fellers talkin' about?
Ashes?
???
Why, cricket of course.
The Ashes of English cricket. A ceremony held the first time those darned Aussies beat the heck out of us.
That was back in the year dot but they've been doing it regularly ever since. They burned the stumps ball & someone put the ashes in a little cup. That's how the story goes anyway. It's been like WWIII ever since. This is the first time we got them back in something like 18 years.
