Thats the funny thing..Sadly this show will make it. And people will love it because its so stupid. This is the latest "trend". A new low for television. :-/

Not only that but they start copying it. Hence the recent outbreak of "happy slapping". That's a misnomer if ever I saw one. One has to wonder where it will all end.

PS. I was never keen on practical jokers. It's fine all the time they're doing it but they can't take it back. >:(

I watched that program last night.
To be honest, it was horrifying. The 'stunts' they do on that show are so lame, they must be really desperate!
Anyway, as Corsair Freak said, we have flight simulators to satisfy our needs.  ;D ;D

Stupid, cheap shows for people with no sense of reality.
They should have more research programs, more wildlife programs and programs that are helpful for everyday things. I especially enjoy documentaries on people, places, mechanical things. History is also good viewing.
I hate these cheap shows. What's the point in paying all that money for a license when they can only produce this stuff?

This is apparently on Channel 4. No licence money involved. These shows are cheap to produce & popular. Lots of lovely advertising revenue for a minimum outlay. Nobody is forced to watch them. ;)

Oh of course - I wasn't thinking. We pay to the BBC and Channel 4 isn't the BBC. I'm there.  ;)

The only decent crazy programme out there is Takeshi's Castle (Japanese, for all of you Sky viewers out there, channel 121 is where you can find it) It is absolutely hilarious and has a good reason to be on: Its japanese, who make the best tv ever!

These things seem to go in a cycle - they certainly have a following or these "ratings driven" companies wouldn't be running them.   The unfortunate thing we have learned is that the "masses" prefer this drivel.

A while back an article suggested that because of the popularity of these shows, there were many unfortunate side effects for the industry on a long term basis.     Work available for qualified actors had dropped off to the degree hundreds were out of work, along with writers and a whole string of associated technicians.

I guess a handful of non-union members on an island is cheap from a wages point of view, no scripts required, no sets to build etc and is done on a bargain basement budget.

The moment the ratings drop significantly so will this trend but don't hold your breath.

There's a reason I don't watch much TV!

Stupid stuff like this is nothing new (remember Jackass?)

In times long past, you might take your children to watch someone being drawn and quartered.

Don't forget entertainment in Rome either!

There was a joke that I heard back at my job. A friend of mine told me that when God offered brains to man, man thought he said TRAINS. So man said "no thank you, I'll catch the next one". ;D

No pun intended.

So he took the next one, ran it into the first one and derailed.

*P.S. With 'you' used instead of 'man', this has been a long-time insult.
